Fighting the Enemy: 01. Slugs

There are many pests that attack the plants in a garden. This article deals with the subject of slugs.

How to stop slugs eating all the plants?

Take a look at eartheasy.com.

We’ve had problems with slugs. We planted parsley, it sprouted well and then overnight the slugs ate all the shoots. All of them. We did not act quickly enough to protect the parsley shoots. This time we will take multiple measures to stop the slugs – crushed egg shells, a beer trap and possibly some copper wire around the planted areas.

Update: I put down crushed egg shells around each of the sprouting lettuce and radish. Thus far, 2 weeks later, this seems to have worked in that we have suffered no losses to slugs.
